About the role
This Technical Support role reports to the Team Leader, Aftersales Support and will be based at the New Zealand Head office in Mangere.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
The skills and background required
You will need previous technical support experience as you will require familiarity with diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
Skills considered relevant include trade qualified diesel technicians, automotive technical, auto electrical, or other mechanical engineering, small engines, bikes, or small engines backgrounds that have had exposure to motor industry service operations.
Technical familiarity with products relating to garden or forestry power tools such as blowers, chainsaws, lawn mowers, hedge trimmers etc. would be advantageous but is not essential.

- Supporting the customer/technical support team, the distribution network, and sales team in all aspects relating to technical support
- Providing full time telephone and email support for all customers
- Carry out various levels of in house and external hands-on training as well as webinar training to dealers, alternate distributors, and staff. This includes use of current training material as well as to update and create new training material
- Assisting with technical support systems and creation of a FAQ database for quick and easy customer and dealer resolutions
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on demonstration products
- Assist with shows or Field Days if required
- Attend to other technical support enquiries regarding all Husqvarna products as and when required
- Hands-on approach to breaking down of equipment when required

- A minimum of three years’ experience in the outdoor power equipment industry is preferred, alternately a high degree of technical/mechanical knowledge, including connected products, would be an advantage
- An understanding of batteries/electronics, and 2 stroke and 4 stroke petrol engines
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical information
- Strong computer skills including MS Office, CRMs, and the ability to adapt to company systems
- The ability to write comprehensive technical reports
- Good time management skills and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
- Strong work ethic and team player
