The employer brief

As one of the most recognisable brands in the motor industry, this company supplies a range of products sold by motor vehicle dealerships nationally through finance and insurance sales.

The time has come to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager who has the capability to develop new channels of business.


About the role

This is no lightweight entry level role; it is one of the most senior business development roles in the industry. You MUST have a motor industry background and be capable of working in the executive end of the market.

The capability to foster close relationships with motor industry executives is essential.  Your clients will be Dealer Principals of franchise sites, General Managers / Owners of used vehicle groups and dealerships, and decision makers in the motor industry. 100% of your clients will be motor vehicle dealers who write finance.

This is a conquest sales role. While this is a highly successful brand that enjoys industry wide success, securing new business will involve building relationships with the company owners / managers and introducing your product into their business.

The stakes are high and you will need to build trust and confidence. The product has the best offering so you will have an advantage on your competitors, but the competition is also strong.


The skills we are seeking

You will be a New / Used Vehicle Sales Manager, a finance and insurance professional, a Lease / Fleet executive, or a current Business Development Manager calling on motor vehicle dealerships at an executive level. You could also be a Dealer Operations Manager, Assistant Sales Manager, or in another similar role.

One thing is certain, your relationship building skills will need to be legendary, your personal presentation among the best in the industry, and you will be confident your communication skills are amount the best the industry has to offer. You will need confidence and a drive to succeed.
