Our company is looking for a hands on Workshop Manager to run the business - ideally someone with a mechanical background to help with mechanical repairs and technical faults as well as to manage the front of house and assist with sales and management of the tyre shop.
About the employer
Located in Auckland this company offers it all - mechanical workshop, issuing WOF tickets, mechanical repair work and suspension work, all in a fully stocked automotive accessories shop.
They are specialists in ECU tuning software as well as radio and audio upgrades.
The owner likes to have fun in the workplace and is all about keeping his staff happy and motivated, as well as running a profitable and successful business and providing superior customer service.
The role
This is an excellent opportunity to lead an already successful team in the mechanical and tyre workshop. You would be responsible for the successful running of the the business whilst the owner is away and make this role your own.
Your duties would include:
  • Control the workflow and job prioritisation throughout the workshop
  • Ensure that the tools and equipment are well maintained as well as be accountable for the stock
  • Liaison with customers for the sales of automotive accessories
  • Assisting with technical queries and helping technicians with complex technical faults in the workshop
  • Quality checking
  • Able to take leadership while the owner is away
  • Be able to help the technicians with fault finding and overflow work
  • Be well organised, a team player, and able to work hard and play hard
  • Able to cope well in a pressurised environment
  • Solid technical ability and confidence in your technical leadership skills
  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Stable work history and good work ethic
  • Over and above it all, the right attitude is very important for this role
