Role overview

Duties will include:
- Drive a range of heavy vehicles within the fleet (log carriers, tippers, tractor, and trailer units) in compliance with all NZ road rules and company safety policies
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, conduct basic defect reporting, and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure vehicle readiness
- Plan and execute local deliveries and pick-ups, as well as regional/ South Island routes to support customer needs
- Safely strap, secure, and manage loads according to best practices and regulatory requirements
- Manage regulatory paperwork, logbooks, and timekeeping accurately using required systems
- Maintain excellent communication with operations, dispatch, and customers to ensure timely, safe, and efficient transport
- Demonstrate professional driving conduct, positive customer interactions, and a proactive safety mindset
- Assist with occasional yard duties or general cartage as required to support operations
Skills and experience
- A full NZ Class 5 license is essential
- Proven, hands-on experience driving the fleet types listed i.e., log carriers, tippers, and tractor and trailer units
- Demonstrated ability to work across local routes and longer South Island trips
- Strong safety record and commitment to incident-free operations
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a collaborative team attitude
- Ability to complete required paperwork accurately and on time
- A clean drivers license free of any serious offences
- A clean criminal history lacking any pending or existing court proceedings
