About Vertu Group

This role is focused on the ongoing development of SANY construction machinery, with overall responsibility for the Auckland market (excavators, rollers, wheel loaders, skid steers) and SANY waste / recycling (material handlers).
Brands represented include SANY construction machinery including excavators, material handlers, and road graders and this is the primary focus of this role.
Vertu's subsidiary business, Terramotive, delivers cutting-edge electric and ICE vehicle solutions such as Yutong electric buses and SANY electric trucks.
The role and its duties
- The key focus for this role is the sale of SANY construction equipment managing both the sales activity and key relationships in the critical Auckland region. The successful appointee will have overall responsibility for the territory budget for the full construction equipment product range
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities (outbound engagement) with commercial and key clients through strategic business development and networking both through direct engagement
- Engage and transact with inbound sales leads
- Actively engage with industry to build personal network, brand and company profile
- Develop long standing and sustainable relationships with commercial/key clients in the region
- Participate in competitive tenders
- Foster a relationship with existing client base, ensuring we retain a close working partnership with the existing client base

The skills and attributes sought
While experience in the New Zealand market selling to the construction equipment sector is preferable, consideration will also be given to well-connected industry professionals with related construction equipment experience and the right attitude.
Offshore skilled construction equipment sales professionals will also be considered in the absence of available New Zealand based candidates.
- The ability to flourish and succeed with a proactive and resilient mindset to developing and securing construction machinery business is essential
- The ability to relate, engage and develop sound business relationships within civil/infrastructure, metal recycling, scrap metal, waste, farming, contracting and other target industry sectors
- Ambition and willingness to put in the hard yards to facilitate our ongoing growth, volume and market share targets
- Willingness to work in an entrepreneurial environment with a large mandate
