About the company
Our client is a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and diesel engines throughout Australasia.
We are looking for an exceptional Service Manager with proven skills to deliver to join their successful branch in Auckland. They have over 30 branches throughout New Zealand and pride themselves on offering the highest quality of customer service and quality of workmanship.
The company runs a professional, state-of-the-art workshop employing over 1,000 staff across all branches.
The role
The role involves full responsibility for the following:
- Ensuring service sales targets are met
- Managing the KPIs for technicians, and motivating staff
- Managing unapplied hours and utilisation
- Lead and manage customer service initiatives
- Build and maintain workshop business and business relationships
- Supervise all service staff, Warranty Advisors, Workshop Controller, and Foremen
- Budgeting and reporting
- Health and Safety compliance
- Measure productivity and efficiency, control unapplied hours, and introduce other KPIs
- Remain up to date with your workshop staff's training and development
- Develop and maintain client relationships
- Provide technical advice when required
The person sought
- You should hold a relevant heavy diesel trade qualification or have solid mechanical knowledge enabling you to discuss and deal with issues accurately and effectively
- While it would be preferable to secure the skills of an experienced Service Manager, consideration will be given to Assistant Service Managers and those with similar backgrounds
- Provide the best possible customer service and representing the brand through a professional image
- Target driven and know how to enhance profitability within the workshop
- Good communication skills
- The ability to multi-task and get stuck in when required
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- You will understand how to measure productivity and efficiency, control unapplied hours, and introduce other KPIs
- Knowledge of computerised Dealer Management Systems
- Ability to further develop the aftersales business
