The role
We are seeking a customer-focused automotive Service Advisor with exceptional customer facing skills and with knowledge of automotive service operations.
 
You will be the main point of contact for customers, coordinating services, repairs, and maintenance from intake to delivery.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Assist customers from greeting through vehicle handover, assessing needs, providing advice, preparing quotes, and explaining work performed.
  • Manage service bookings, work orders, job prioritisation, and communication between customers, technicians, and suppliers.
  • Provide updates, obtain approvals for repairs, and ensure clear explanations of costs, risks, timelines, and recommendations.
  • Handle invoicing, payments, record-keeping, and accurate documentation in the DMS.
  • Promote suitable services or maintenance plans without pressure, maintain customer satisfaction, and resolve complaints professionally.
  • Follow all health, safety, company, and quality standards.
 
Requirements
The ideal candidate is organised, practical, and has a strong understanding of automotive servicing and repairs, with excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
 
  • Prior experience as a Service Advisor, or other front-line franchise or non-franchise automotive experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, servicing, and typical repair processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to explain complex technical information in plain language
  • Customer-focused with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Proficient with workshop management systems (WMS/DMS), invoicing, parts ordering, and basic PC skills
  • Strong organisational skills, multitasking ability, and attention to detail
  • A clean, valid NZ driver's license
