The role and its duties
As Sales Manager across new and used Audi, Volkswagen and Skoda vehicles, this front-line leadership role is responsible for new and used sales volumes and profitability. You will be actively involved in everything that relates to driving sales volumes forward.
This is not a back-room role - you will be at the front of the action assisting in closing sales, interacting with clients, assessing vehicles, and generally doing everything it takes to build volume and profit.
Team leadership & development: develop and mentor a high-performing sales team. Conduct daily and weekly sales meetings and implement ongoing training programs focused on product knowledge and selling skills. Encouraging systemised prospecting and outreach and expediting customer follow up.
Community engagement: Both encouraging your sales team to get involved in the community and the sales manager personally getting involved in a wide range of community groups such as business groups, sporting groups, networking and other community focused engagement.
Sales strategy & target achievement: alongside the Group General Sales Manager the position assists the GSM in executing strategic sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives for unit sales, gross turnover, and market share across both departments. Working with call centre teams to maximise leads and converting these into sales.
Customer experience (CSI): act as the steward of our customer satisfaction index (CSI). Resolve escalations professionally and ensure every customer receives a seamless, elite delivery experience.
Collaborative advertising: work with the marketing team to design and implement campaigns that drive leads and improve online and social media sales conversions.
Reporting and use of DMS and other technology: Ensuring sales professionals are utilising DMS, CRM and other technology effectively.
Pricing and appraisals; accurate pricing and appraisals of trade in vehicles and purchasing in the absence of vehicle buyers.
National distributor engagement; responsible for ensuring warm effective relationships with the National Distributor and all associated staff.
Inventory & stock management: maintain a high-impact dealership and showroom presentation. Monitor inventory levels daily to ensure an optimal mix of models, colours, and equipment based on market analysis. Accurate assessment of pre-owned vehicle trade ins and coordination with aftersales team on presentation of quality stock.
The skills and attributes sought
Evidence of experience and superior performance in the role of Vehicle Sales Manager in a franchise dealership operation
In depth knowledge of new and pre-owned sales vehicle operations
Accomplished leadership skills demonstrating the ability to positively motivate and lead a medium to large sales team to achieve high volumes of new vehicle sales
Accountability, integrity, and decency:the ability to take total ownership of the department's results and maintain the highest professional standards in every interaction
The ability to contribute to strategic initiatives that lead to powerful development of sales volumes
A passion for the VAG brands and the drive, commitment, and ethical standards that match Bayswater vehicle group drive for performance
Superior communication skills and professional personal presentation
Proficiency with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and other technology related to the role such as Autoplay, other CRM related functions, and social media
Customer-centric mindset: a "polished" and consultative style, focusing on building long-term relationships rather than just closing individual transactions
A burning desire to deliver a customer experience that exceeds all expectations
