About the role and the employer
The employer, a leading and authorised franchise dealership for a premium global brand of construction equipment, is seeking a skilled and diligent Pre-Delivery Technician to join their team in Matamata.
 
This is a critical role ensuring that every machine delivered to customers meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability. You will be the final checkpoint before equipment hits the field, combining technical expertise with a keen eye for detail.
 
Key responsibilities
As a Pre-Delivery Technician, your duties will include:

• Pre-delivery servicing and inspections: conduct thorough pre-delivery checks and services on new and used construction equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership procedures.
• Auxiliary equipment installation: fit and configure approved attachments and auxiliary components to customer or stock orders.
• Pre-delivery safety compliance: ensure all machines comply with relevant health & safety regulations and manufacturer safety standards. This includes functional testing of safety systems, lights, alarms, and operator guarding.
• Equipment testing and final validation: operate equipment to verify performance, diagnose faults, and confirm all systems are fully operational
• Quality assurance: identify and rectify any cosmetic or mechanical issues before handover
• Workshop collaboration: work alongside the sales, service, and parts teams to meet delivery timelines and support efficient workshop workflows

 
Requirements

• Relevant automotive trade qualification
• Prior experience with heavy machinery, construction equipment, or agricultural machinery - familiarity with a major brand is advantageous
• Competence in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems diagnostics
• Strong commitment to workplace health & safety
• Ability to work methodically with high attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a reliable, team-oriented attitude
• Full NZ driver's licence. A machinery operating licence is beneficial
