About the role
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Automotive Parts Advisor to join a franchise dealership in their parts department.

This role is critical to supporting the service, sales, and workshop teams while also developing strong relationships with trade and retail customers in the area.
 
You will be responsible for supplying parts accurately and efficiently and managing inventory.
 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Interpret parts requests and supply correct components for technicians, service advisors, and retail customers
  • Provide exceptional customer service at the parts counter, over the phone, via email, and in person
  • Order parts from manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring correct pricing and availability
  • Receive, check, and process incoming stock and manage returns and credits
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock control and stocktakes
  • Prepare quotes and invoices and process sales transactions
  • Liaise closely with service, workshop, and sales departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Promote parts products, specials, and campaigns, identifying upselling opportunities
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and safe parts department
  • Represent the dealership professionally when dealing with customers and attending industry events as required
 
Skills and experience
  • Previous experience in an automotive parts role (dealership experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle components and parts systems
  • Experience using electronic parts catalogues and dealership DMS systems
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Current full driver's licence
  • Self-motivated with a strong customer-first mindset
  • Professional, reliable, and well presented
  • Results-driven
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
