The role
We are seeking a dynamic New Vehicle Sales Manager with proven leadership skills and a passion for driving results.

You will lead a medium-sized team, leveraging your expertise in sales strategy, team motivation, and market insights to achieve exceptional performance.

This role offers strategic influence within the wider group and reports directly to the Dealer Principal and GM - Sales.

Key responsibilities include:

Team leadership and development:

• Achievement of sales targets both as a division of the dealership and your teams' individual sales targets
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control, in conjunction with Dealer Principal and Group General Sales Manager
• Motivate, coach, and manage a medium-sized sales team to exceed targets
• Conduct performance reviews and implement training programs

Sales strategy and execution:

• Drive new vehicle sales through structured processes and CRM/DMS tools
• Oversee pricing, appraisals, and inventory management
• Achievement of CSI ratings
• Ensure exceptional service standards for high-value clientele and corporate/industrial buyers
• Resolve escalated customer inquiries promptly
• Collaborate on digital/social media campaigns and traditional marketing initiatives
• Analyse market trends to identify growth opportunities
• Monitor KPIs and report on sales metrics to senior leadership

Strategic collaboration:

• Build sound relationships with the new vehicle distributor and their employees
• Partner with service, finance, and parts departments for cohesive operations

The skills and experience sought

• While 3+ years pf proven success in automotive sales management is preferred, the distributor also places a high level of emphasis on decency and professionalism. Fair minded leadership and high standards are essential
• You will need expertise in structured selling processes, DMS/CRM systems, and social media marketing
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making are also required
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities
• Valid driver's license and right to work in New Zealand
