The company, the brand, and the culture
KIA New Zealand is globally one of the most progressive automotive brands. In New Zealand, the success of KIA has been nothing short of phenomenal. The brand slogan, “Movement that inspires” has certainly proven true. New Zealanders inspired by KIA innovation, smart design technology, and their experiences with the brand have supported KIA to the very top tier of national distributors in NZ.
Working at KIA New Zealand you will enjoy the light and spacious corporate facilities that are complemented by the sea views across the Tamaki estuary. Additional development of facilities is underway to further support our evolution and to provide a team environment that allows us all to thrive.
“There’s never been a more exciting time to work at KIA. We all work towards a common goal.
At KIA, we’re supporting award-winning products and redefining what value means in the automotive industry. Our culture is fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative. Our people thrive on thinking differently and challenging the status quo.
We are creating something special here, a culture of learning and opportunity, where you can help KIA achieve big things and, most importantly, feel passionate and connected to your work every day.
If you share our belief, then it's time you move to KIA.”
The roles, its duties, and responsibilities
The National Parts Manager leads the parts operations for KIA New Zealand and reports directly to the KIA New Zealand CEO.
Due to the retirement of the incumbent National Parts Manager, we are now seeking a skilled professional to manage all parts personnel. The role oversees and supports a network of 35 KIA dealerships nationally including the KIA head office staff referred to.
The role includes the following duties:
The skills and abilities sought
The National Parts Managers role is part of the senior leadership team at KIA New Zealand.
Applicants will need a minimum of 3 years’ parts management or aftersales management experience in the automotive, heavy automotive, equipment, or recreational marine sectors. Specific national parts management experience is particularly sought after but we will consider a variety of experience across the retail or distributor sectors of the industry if relevant to the automotive parts sector.
You will need superior analytical reasoning skills, planning and organisational ability, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to contribute to the KIA NZ strategic plan is essential so too is a systematic approach to projects and tasks. This will require strong IT skills including the ability to present relevant data.
Your commercial acumen should include knowledge of current Health and Safety compliance along with general business management experience. It would be beneficial, though is not essential, if the applicant held current MPI experience with a qualification as an Approved Transitional Facilities Operator (ATF) or Transitional Facilities Operator. A level 7 qualification would also be advantageous, though, would not outweigh superior commercial acumen and proven results.
The challenge and rewards
Reflecting the seniority of the role an attractive 6 figure plus income is payable for the role as may be expected. A company car, cellphone, laptop, and additional benefits are all provided for.
The role involves a content of national travel and, when borders reopen, some international travel.
“There’s never been a more exciting time to work at KIA” – this should be considered a rare and enticing career role presenting far more than mere perfunctory employment.
