The role and its duties
Responsible for managing 5 retail SsangYong and LDV dealerships nationally, including all new and used vehicle retail sales sites, finance and insurance, service, parts, and administrative operations. The role has full accountability for the bottom-line profitability and performance of the business.

The position is based in the Auckland head office facility in East Tamaki and reports directly to the Inchcape New Zealand Managing Director.

Reporting to the National Head of Retail are the Dealer Principals / General Managers for each location. This includes the Auckland Dealer Principal who operates across 2 sites. There are 100+ staff across the 5 locations.


Key responsibilities
People and Culture Leadership?

  • Create an empowered leadership culture that motivates and leads all staff to high performance culture
  • Ensure that internal training resources are fully leveraged by managers
  • Coach and develop Inchcape retail leaders
  • Ensure organisational structures achieve productivity targets
  • Role model and drive a culture of accountability, customer focus and collaboration


Accelerate Strategy

  • Develop and implement the Inchcape retail strategic priorities
  • Develop a growth agenda within Inchcape Retail
  • Lead a culture of innovation


Financial

  • Ensure delivery of all key performance metrics in line with the business plan and budget expectations across all sites
  • Budget setting, risk identification and mitigation plans were necessary
  • Deliver strong unit growth, resulting in delivery of OEM structured bonus
  • Full accountability to ensure your dealership managers keep stock controlled, fresh and that quality standards are adhered to.
  • Provide a commercial focus to management of overheads


Workplace Health & Safety

  • Proactively manage risk and ensure a safe work environment


Business Process

  • Ensure that all operations and processes are cost effective and optimised
  • Deliver key operations to best practice standards set with a culture of no compromise in the delivery of quality standards and compliance


The person we seek
This role is one of the more enticing senior management roles to surface in recent times. It is likely the successful candidate will hold employment as a Dealer Principal, or similar.

Specifically required

  • A depth of knowledge of leading and managing retail automotive dealership operations is essential
  • Prior full accountability for running a business profit and loss
  • Significant experience managing and leading high performing teams
  • Proven track record in driving culture, process
  • A track record of success
