About the employer
Securing a career ahead of simply banal employment assists long term tenure of employment. The employer is a multinational with the largest supply of motorhomes in NZ. COVID-19 has provided golden trading times for the sales division of this company. New Zealanders who are keen to explore the country’s vast abundance of stunning scenery and adventure activities while the tourists are away and borders closed can be seen in droves traveling every corner of our country.

When borders open the wider tourism activities of the employer will present unparalleled growth for the company. Those employees showing promise and commitment could well find a wealth of career opportunities in the future.

During COVID-19 the opportunity for the sales division is terrific, fertile trading activity with no scarcity of stock. Let the sun shine and position yourself for future that will logically bring growth.

The role
This is a direct sales role selling campervans and recreational vehicles. Middle NZ is descriptive of the client base; those New Zealanders who normally travel offshore are represented in numbers currently, so too those seeking a lifestyle change. Universally the investment is a significant purchase.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Exploring leads within the employer’s existing clientele and after sales operations and turning leads into demonstrations
  • Dealing with online and walk-in enquiries
  • Sales presentations
  • Closing sales
  • After sales follow ups
  • Working alongside parts and retail departments and service operations

The employment backgrounds sought
The employer seeks a background in passenger vehicle sales, fleet sales, light or heavy commercial or equipment sales, small engines sales, leasing, or perhaps even sales of farm machinery or similar such equipment.  Obviously caravan or motorhome sales would prove advantageous although not critical if other motor industry sales experience is possessed by the applicant.

While a motor industry background would be preferred, applicants who own motorhomes or caravans who can demonstrate sales experience will also be considered. Perhaps real estate, commercial leasing, financial advisers etc. will all be considered as will other capital or service-related sales experience. For candidates who do not possess motor industry experience, the knowledge of motorhomes and RV’s will prove a mandatory requirement.

The challenge, rewards, and opportunity
A healthy base salary above industry norms is payable. Commissions are payable both on the sale and delivery of the motorhome or RV. A Surface Pro laptop or equivalent is provided along with cell phone. This is a five-day week role, and Sundays are not worked. If rostered to work on a Saturday, a weekday is provided off in its place.

Remuneration provides for a six-figure income exceeding $100,000 provided targets are achieved with incumbent sales professionals each selling some 13 to 15 vehicles monthly. As a guide employees should aim for 8 units as a minimum. The company’s top sales professionals can exceed $150,000 per annum although a company car is not provided.

The role will suit a salesperson looking to free up their weekends and establish a genuine career in a prominent NZ multinational poised for a return to growth.

How to apply
Unfortunately due to border closures, we cannot accept applications from offshore migrants at present. This vacancy is therefore only open to citizens, residents, those with Open Work Visas and those in NZ with Work Visas that can be transferred to a new employer. If you are located outside NZ and do not already have the right to work here, we are unable to assist during COVID-19 for the foreseeable future.
