About the role
This is a hands-on Marine Diesel Electrical Supervisor position, where you will lead by example while remaining actively involved on the tools.
 
You will be responsible for carrying out electrical diagnostics, repairs, installations, and system upgrades, while overseeing workflow and maintaining the highest standards across the team.
 
Key duties will include:
  • Diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of marine electrical systems on high-speed diesel vessels
  • Installation and integration of enhanced electrical and control systems during refits and upgrades
  • Working on power generation and distribution systems (generators, switchboards, shore power)
  • Fault finding across engine management systems, ECUs, and vessel control systems
  • Installation and maintenance of navigation, communication, and onboard network systems
  • Working with battery systems, charging systems, and inverter/UPS setups
  • Involvement in automation systems, PLCs, and vessel monitoring systems
  • Electrical fit outs including cabling, terminations, panel work, and system commissioning
  • Supporting sea trials and final commissioning of electrical systems
  • Supervising and mentoring technicians while maintaining productivity and quality standards

Skills sought
You must hold a relevant electrical qualification and have proven experience in the recreational marine sector, ideally within superyacht or high-end vessel environments.
  • Strong background as a Marine Electrical Technician, with supervisory or senior experience
  • Proven experience working on advanced marine electrical and control systems
  • Ability to carry out both diagnostics and high-level installations/fit outs
  • Experience with modern marine electronics, automation, and vessel systems
  • Hands-on capability - this is an on-tools leadership role
  • Exceptional attention to cleanliness, detail, and workmanship quality
  • Professional communication skills when dealing with high-value clients and vessels
