A leading provider in the industrial equipment sector is seeking a highly skilled and qualified Hydraulic Technician to join their dedicated service team.

This pivotal role is central to maintaining the operational excellence and reliability of the fleet of commercial swing lift and side loader truck-mounted crane assets.
 
 
Position overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive maintenance, repair to truck-mounted crane systems and trailer repairs to heavy commercial trailers.
 
This position requires a technically proficient professional capable of performing executing precision repairs and undertaking custom fabrication to ensure the high standards of safety compliance.
 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance, detailed inspections, and complex breakdown repairs on truck-mounted crane units.
  • Rectify faults within sophisticated hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Perform quality fabrication, modification, and repairs of structural and component parts, Gas, MIG welding skills required.
  • Maintain accurate service records, parts inventories, and job reports in accordance with company procedures.
  • Uphold and promote a culture of utmost safety, adhering to all workplace health and safety protocols.
 
Essential qualifications and experience
  • A formal automotive trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated post-qualification experience in a heavy diesel or plant machinery environment
  • Proven expertise in the troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of hydraulic systems
  • Certified competency in Gas and/or MIG welding with practical fabrication experience
  • Specific technical experience servicing, maintaining, or repairing truck-mounted cranes is mandatory
  • The ability to interpret hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals
  • A solutions-oriented mindset with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
