About the role
You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of a modern and diverse fleet of forklifts.
 
This is a mixed role, offering variety between field service calls and workshop-based duties, ensuring no two days are the same.
 
Key duties:
  • Conducting diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a range of equipment, including: counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, and other specialist equipment
  • Performing service and repairs across mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Completing field service calls at client sites across Christchurch including logistics centres, manufacturing plants, and various other environments
  • Carrying out workshop-based servicing and repairs to the highest standard
  • Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and documented accurately.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and technical advice
 
What we're looking for
While experience with electric (IE) forklifts is beneficial, we are primarily seeking a solid foundation in mechanical diagnostics and repair. 
  • A diesel mechanic or other relevant automotive trade qualification is required
  • Proven experience with materials handling equipment ideally, although not necessarily, extending across both IC and IE machines
  • A solid background in mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage your own schedule
  • A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence
  • A safety-first mindset and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
