Overview of the role
The role involves controlling the accounting and admin departments to ensure smooth running and best efficiency, while implementing company policy, philosophy, rules, and all facets of the financial requirements of the company.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Maintain operating record of the company and ensure those records suit the requirements of Suzuki Motor Corporation and meet all legislative requirements
Provide information on the operating record and report various results of the company to the CEO and Suzuki Motor Corporation
Prepare monthly financial reports, quarterly consolidated reports, flash reports, and weekly cash position for SMC, prepare monthly financial report for the CEO and each departmental manager, and prepare sales analysis reports monthly and provide to marketing departments
Establish the budget of the company and monitor the result, provide budget to Suzuki Motor Corporation and prepare revised budget and forecasts twice yearly
Ensure expenses of the department are spent in the most effective manner, control the expenses within the budget set by the company, control orders/payments and expenses of the company, sign off price reductions, overrides, purchase orders, and invoice approvals
Monitor debt situation of dealers and others to ensure their payment and arrange insurance for parts collection, ensure full and timely payment of Company Tax, GST, PAYE, FBT, Withholding Tax, Issuer Levy, provisional tax, and any other taxes
Supervise employees of accounting departments and arrange appropriate training courses and arrange fair and efficient distribution of workload within the department

The skills and abilities sought
Essential to the success of the role is the need for New Zealand qualifications and experience. New Zealand's tax legislation is complex and country specific and the appointee should possess experience ideally in a similar environment i.e. have proven skills and experience.
The correct qualification is that of an accounting degree such as Bachelor of Commence (BCom) majoring in Accounting, or Associate Charted Accountants qualification.
Employment backgrounds that include motor industry, logistics, or distributor experience are particularly sought after. All applicants from other industries that have the appropriate experience for the role will also be considered.
