The role
This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join a busy, well-structured workshop supporting a diverse heavy-diesel fleet.
 
Working alongside the Workshop Manager and 2IC, you will carry out diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and safety-focused workshop duties to ensure fleet reliability, productivity, and high service standards.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair heavy diesel engines, driveline, steering, braking, and electrical systems
  • Conduct diagnostic testing, analyse results, and perform corrective repairs
  • Complete preventative maintenance and inspection checklists on heavy vehicles and service trucks
  • Maintain accurate job cards, timecards, booking information, and service records
  • Support warranty processes, lease company requirements, and parts management
  • Ensure safe operation of workshop equipment and compliance with all Health & Safety policies
  • Promote a productive and tidy workshop environment, ensuring communication with internal teams and customers is professional and timely
What you'll bring
  • Relevant qualification as a diesel mechanic or related qualification
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Strong diagnostic capability and experience with heavy diesel engines
  • Ability to work safely, follow procedures, and meet productivity expectations
  • High level of reliability, professionalism, and a positive, practical approach
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence liaising with customers and internal departments
  • A team player with a sense of humour, integrity, and commitment to quality workmanship
