We're currently seeking skilled Construction Equipment Mechanics for several roles across New Zealand, with openings in the Bay of Plenty, Otago, Waikato, Southland, and the Canterbury regions.

Key responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults across heavy construction equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel engines and associated systems
  • Inspect, test, and assess machinery to identify issues and ensure reliable performance
  • Use diagnostic software and tools to determine equipment conditions
  • Carry out repairs on hydraulic systems, transmissions, and fuel injection components
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reports
  • Follow all safety procedures and comply with industry standards
  • Work closely with team members to meet equipment availability targets
  • Provide advice on repairs and preventative maintenance planning
 
What we're looking for
Preference will be given to Diesel Mechanics with hands-on experience in construction or earthmoving equipment, although candidates with mining or forestry backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Relevant automotive trade qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years' proven experience working on relevant heavy equipment
  • WTR endorsement and HT licence are an advantage
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Competent in the use of diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
