The mystery starts
The facility is home for the designers, other highly skilled craftsmen, as well as the owners and employers of the wider business operations.
This role is additional to those already employed.
From the outside you could be looking at any commercial building - the same can be said for when you first enter. Even when you make your way into the facilities, the CNC machines, lathes, and presses could still belong to any business until the secret unfolds as you enter the vehicle operations.
The rare classic vintage nears completion. Next is the custom American Pro Touring vehicle with no less than 1000hp; this one went through an elite restoration and custom modification.
A rare vintage motorcycle sits on the stand and, right in the middle of the facility, a jaw dropping restoration/rebuild is underway. There are many more vehicles in the collection at other locations that all need maintenance to retain their value. All this and more occurs in this remarkable facility.
The full extent of this operation or its specific Auckland location will not be disclosed in first communications and nor will the details of the employer. Our client is very private and let’s just leave it by saying this is a rare and enticing opportunity.
The skills and attributes we are seeking are also not the norm
Securing this role will find you providing a very special service. Your skills as a craftsman, of course, need to be to the highest standards.
The relationship will be very different from most employment scenarios and you will work towards being a trusted confidant and valued team member.
Skills required are at upper craftsman’s levels. Specific focus is on vehicle fabrication and panel beating. You will be undertaking restorations, fabrication, rebuilds, and will be involved in high end repowering and work on vintage British and American modified customs that comprise an extensive collection.
We are looking for a warm, down to earth person. This is not a role that will suit an impatient, abrupt, or argumentative personality or a prima donna. You will want to be the person who provides a service and is able to impress not only with the quality of workmanship but so too the work ethic to ensure the employer gains exceptional service and productivity.
What’s in it for you?
While the work environs are unique in themselves, it is entirely likely you could find yourself visiting unique locations during your employment. Become indispensable and discover the reward for being so.
A competitive base salary and bonus plan and tools for the job are available to the right candidate.
How to apply
Invitations are now extended to appropriately skilled craftsmen with good planning skills to apply for this unique role.
In the first instance all applications should be directed to Russell Phillips at Automotive Employment NZ by clicking the APPLY NOW section and uploading your resume.
