The opportunity
A well-established, high-performing automotive dealership in Palmerston North is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join its busy and professional workshop.
 
This is a hands-on role suited to a technician who brings solid dealership experience, brand training, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
 
 
About the role
You'll be responsible for carrying out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs across a range of late-model vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer standards.
 
Working within a supportive team, you'll contribute to workshop efficiency while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism in everything you do.
 
 
Key responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostics, servicing, and repair work on a range of light vehicles 
• Perform vehicle inspections and provide accurate repair recommendations 
• Complete all work in line with manufacturer specifications and dealership processes 
• Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding job progress and findings 
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment 
• Ensure all job cards and documentation are completed accurately and on time 
• Participate in ongoing brand training and development programs 
• Contribute positively to team culture and workshop performance

 
What we are looking for

• Relevant automotive trade qualification 
• Proven experience as an Automotive Technician within a dealership environment 
• Brand training and franchise experience highly regarded 
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability 
• Competent with modern diagnostic tools and workshop systems 
• Current full driver's licence 
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship 
• Strong team player with a positive and reliable attitude
