Duties and responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Technical Adviser for customers, translating complex vehicle issues into clear, actionable guidance
  • Communicate technical findings to customers in plain language, balancing practical repair considerations with customer expectations
  • Prepare accurate quotes, scope work, and explain service options, timelines, and costs
  • Collaborate with technicians to ensure efficient workflow, prioritise repairs, and verify quality of workmanship on completed jobs
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers as needed to source parts, warranty considerations, and service bulletins.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new vehicle technologies, service campaigns, and industry best practices
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality standards, and workshop procedures
  • Build strong relationships with customers, supporting them through visits, follow-ups, and aftercare
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative workshop culture and assist in training or mentoring junior staff where appropriate
 
What we're looking for
  • Solid automotive technical background with hands-on experience in diagnosis, electrical systems, driveline, and modern vehicle platforms
  • Strong customer service skills: the ability to listen, empathise, explain, and manage expectations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities - comfortable presenting technical information to non-technical customers
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Proactive, resourceful, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • A current NZ driver's license
  • Any additional automotive qualifications or OEM/brand training are advantageous
