Role overview
We're seeking a motivated individual to continue with their apprenticeship and become a qualified Automotive Technician.

This role combines practical workshop experience with formal training, offering the opportunity to grow into a skilled technician under the mentorship of industry professionals.

You'll gain expertise in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs across a range of makes and models.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist qualified technicians with vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections
  • Learn diagnostic techniques using modern tools and technology
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks such as brake checks, oil changes, and tyre rotations
  • Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment and adhere to health and safety protocols
  • Complete off-site coursework and assessments as part of your apprenticeship
  • Develop customer service skills by interacting with clients under supervision


Key requirements

  • Preferred: Pre-trade training (e.g., NZ Certificate in Automotive Engineering Level 2, 3 or similar) from a polytechnic or equivalent institution
  • Strong basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and technical tasks
  • Proven commitment to learning and completing long-term goals (e.g., previous work, study, or project experience)
  • Mechanical aptitude: a passion for vehicles and problem-solving, with a willingness to learn
  • Team-oriented mindset and clear communication skills
  • Driver's licence
