wishing to achieve pre entry to the motor industry this service
may also prove invaluable given the investment many pre entry candidates
make in training. For the executive wishing to secure top line vacancies
the service will prove to be of immeasurable value. The service
is however targeted at those in the industry wishing to progress
their careers.
Please note; unlike all other services provided
by Automotive Employment NZ Ltd to job seekers, the Career Mentoring
system is not a free service. Career Mentoring is designed to provide
a path way for employees to develop their career. A written plan
will be developed with the employee with your consultant providing
a mentoring service over a pre-determined period.
Should your employment requirement be immediate this
is not the section of the web site for you, in such cases we suggest
you immediately return to our home page www.automotiveemployment.co.nz
where our free job search service will most benefit you.
Career Mentoring is a new initiative from Automotive
Employment NZ Ltd The company recognises that 16 years specific
involvement in the automotive recruitment industry in New Zealand
has a value employees in the motor industry. In past years our focus
has been on finding candidates to fill vacancies which have a pre-determined
"person specification" provided by the employer. As the
employer has paid the recruitment fee, it is the employer who is
the client of Automotive Employment NZ, not the candidate. Career
Mentoring is a way of Automotive Employment NZ helping candidates
who wish to develop their career, not just change employment. The
goal is that we work with the candidate over the course of your
career to achieve incremental gains in income and seniority which
lead to the achievement of your career goals.
Many candidates take on training in a specific area
and in some cases spend tens of thousands of dollars with little
or no reward in terms of employment advancement. It is our goal
to turn this around and work with candidates with a view to specifically
changing this around. The benefit should prove highly valuable to
the employee provided the incremental advancements that your consultant
and yourself agree to, are achieved.
Please note this service is only available to candidates
residing in New Zealand as it involves face to face consultation
and planning.
Automotive Employment NZ Ltd is uniquely positioned
to provide this service to mentoring students given our ability
to both provide the career guidance you require and potentially
also help you to secure the long term employment you need to progress.
Step One
The Automentor process starts by an employee registering
their interest in developing their career.
Please fill out the following form:
Step Two
Your consultant from Automotive Employment NZ Ltd
will contact you to make an appointment to discuss your career aspirations.
Step Three
Your consultant at Automotive Employment NZ Ltd will conduct an
introductory consultation. Please note an hourly charge applies
to this service with initial consultations taking approximately
1 hour. It is possible that with approval from the mentoring student,
that mentoring may include some additional costs such as ability
testing or similar, to help develop existing weaknesses. Such agreements
if any will take place in the consultation and will be agreed by
the student in writing if applicable.
Following up from your consultation your consultant
will produce a "career workshop folder" this will include
the following:
- A mutually agreed summary of your current employment
circumstances
- A mutual agreement of the career goals you wish
to achieve
- A mutual agreement on the path we choose to get
there.
Step Four
- A follow up appointment if required will concentrate
on the possible obstacles the mentoring student may encounter
in achieving their career goals. These follow up activities will
become part of the career workshop folder which will form the
path to achieving your desired career goals.
- Identification of appropriate training and training
providers to counter weaknesses
- Agreement on training if required
- A structured path to achieving your career goals
such as securing employment in incremental steps
Stress resilience assessments; it is a known fact that some employees
have strong desires to enter management positions. Often these
employees find when they achieve their desired goals that they
cannot deal with the stresses associated with the position. We
are able to identify a reduced capability of dealing with stress
and discuss the impact this could have on you not achieving your
career goals. Recognition of this hurdle can avoid failure further
down the track as you recognise what it takes to reduce the impact
of stress.
Step Five
Provided the mentoring student wishes to continue
with their career development Automentor has an advanced programme
to achieve this. Ongoing mentoring services if any, will be agreed
on a case by case basis should this service be required. Advanced
mentoring becomes applicable when there is a change in your personal
circumstances or chosen career direction.
